Geoman's Journey and the Evolution of Web Mapping

Geoman started over a decade ago as an open-source project within the Leaflet mapping ecosystem. Initially, our goal was to help developers handle data objects on Leaflet maps with ease and flexibility. To meet these needs, we recognized that extending Geoman to the MapLibre ecosystem was the natural next step. With the announcement of MapLibre-Geoman Free and MapLibre-Geoman Pro this has been accomplished. Both products maintain feature parity with their Leaflet counterparts - Leaflet-Geoman Free and Leaflet-Geoman Pro - ensuring that MapLibre users can access the full range of Geoman’s tools regardless of their project size or scope. MapLibre-Geoman Free is ideal for smaller projects and hobbyist developers, while MapLibre-Geoman Pro is designed for advanced business use cases and super users needing additional features and support.
